Thanksgiving Turkey Trot

The family went to the Thundercloud Turkey Trot this year. It was our first year but I think everyone had fun. We only did the 1 mile but it was still a good active activity for the beginning of the day. Before the race, everyone posed for pictures or looked up during candid shots:

Later Chiara discovered the joy of the Tupperware cabinet.

Hopscotch and other Pictures

Asher has been listening to an IPod with one of us before bed rather than watching a show or something. On Tuesdays, when Rachel works, I let him listen to it after I leave the room. Here's how we found him on Tuesday when we went to check on him.

Chiara loves Rachel's phone. More importantly, Mitz, look at the pants!

The other day we went over to LD & Joey's and Ash wanted to concentrate on his music.

And here is Ella, LD & Joey's new and very sweet puppy.

Sunday we went outside to play and ended up doing Hopscotch. I definitely would have dressed differently had I known it was going to be a photo op. Chiara watched the game with interest.

I don't know whether having someone push on you while hopscotching makes it easier or harder.

Tunnels

Rachel and Asher set up the tent and tunnel the other day and Asher and Chiara had a great time in the tunnel and tent.

One step, Two step...

... red step, blue step. This was last night. Chiara was standing and then taking one step at a time. She probably did it about 6-7 times but this is the only one that I got on tape. It's hard to see that she's taking a step but you'll recognize it: it happens right before she falls down. Even if you don't believe in the step, this is some impressive standing.

Halloween Party 2008

We had our annual Halloween party Saturday. It was a pretty low-key affair but we had lots of friends in costumes and good food. I made corn chowder from the Year of Crockpotting website but I used vegetable broth rather than chicken of course and also tossed in a can of diced chilies. I think that everyone enjoyed the chowder (except perhaps myself and Molly). Other than that we had cheese and crackers, fruit, and pumpkin cupcakes which Asher helped make.

Asher reprised his Stuart Little costume and didn't want to take it off all day even when the party was over. Chiara was Pebbles once again and I broke out my costume - note the hockey jersey, baby, and lipstick. Got it?

Will brought Avelyn and Keegan who didn't want to put on his costume but finally did just so I could take a picture.

Owen was a football player, specifically Colt McCoy (he said) and he and Asher really got into playing trampoline.

Maggie, Jay, Molly, Leah, and Dylan came up from Houston as well. Molly was Tinkerbell, Leah was Belle, and Dylan was a spider but I didn't get a single good picture of him.

Daniel reprised Asher's dragon costume and Joey showed up as the big dragon.

And we were thrilled to have Angelique and Jayden eat the bottoms of a few cupcakes.

It was an awesome party.
